Our Partners

DEI proudly collaborates with a strong base of founding and community partners, including Wayne State University's Damon J. Keith Center for Civil Rights, Huntington Bank, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, DTE Foundation, City of Detroit, The Kresge Foundation and Henry Ford Health.

To build on this momentum, our organization seeks additional corporate and community investors to fund our vital work in diversity, equity and inclusion.

Founding partners are Detroit corporations with a demonstrated commitment to driving equity and inclusion in our community. They contribute an initiation fee plus annual dues for a set timeframe and populate a CEO advisory group to aid with strategy development. In addition, founding partners:

  • Gain access to relevant data and reports to develop accurate diversity, equity and inclusion baselines, create goals and measure progress

  • Join outreach efforts and offer solutions to increase effectiveness and drive diversity and inclusion in workforce and economic development, education, procurement and talent management

  • Connect with neighborhood-based organizations and leaders to drive community engagement

  • Ensure Detroiters of all backgrounds and education levels are positioned for success

  • Share efforts and receive recognition through events, earned media and DEI digital platforms

  • Community partners include foundations and nonprofits. Depending on their contribution level, these organizations provide input on DEI efforts, receive relevant data and reports and gain recognition through events, earned media and DEI digital platforms.

What Our Partners Say

Mayor Mike Duggan, City of Detroit

The City of Detroit fully supports this effort and will be a participant in reviewing the city’s own processes, as well as sharing data across the community. We look forward to a tool that can make our community more equitable for all our residents.

M. Roy Wilson, President, Wayne State University

As president of Wayne State University, I enthusiastically endorse and extend my support for Detroit Equity Inc., a collaborative effort with corporate partners in Metro Detroit to better understand and act upon issues of equality at all levels in the workplace. Together, we can help advance racial equity, help businesses thrive and promote a healthier regional economy.
